Help Military Spouses

The Council brings together nonprofit professionals in the military spouse community to support modern military spouse clubs.

The Council For Military Spouse Clubs (the “Council”) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to educating, training, and providing resources to American military spouse clubs and their charitable nonprofits operating on military installations worldwide in order to preserve, perpetuate, and improve their governance and operations as nonprofit organizations.

The Council’s membership helps fellow military spouse clubs operate better, more efficiently, and more effectively than they are able to acting by themselves. We help military spouse club organizations take the administrative headache out of running a nonprofit.

Our History

From Legal Information Guide
to Global Council

The Council evolved from a years-long effort to draft a legal information guide for military spouse clubs into a bigger goal of bringing together experienced nonprofit professionals in the milspouse community to provide education, training, networking and leadership opportunities focused on milspouse clubs.

How to Become a Member

Our eligible members include military spouse clubs across the world which are organized as unincorporated associations and incorporated nonprofit corporations, and either do not have federal tax-exempt status, or are recognized under Section 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) and 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code, and their affiliated for-profit and not-for-profit businesses.

Eligible members are organized for purposes including the support of military spouses at a designated military installation, or surrounding areas, and often times operate as “welfare” or “social” organizations with or without thrift shops and gift shops.
